Leo Cofré is a Chilean multimedia designer and music producer positioned at the intersection of electronic art, where music, visual arts, new media, artistic direction, technology, and design converge.
As a multimedia designer, he has distinguished himself as a visual artist for major festivals such as DGTL Amsterdam, DGTL Chile, Lollapalooza Chile, Kuze Festival (Planetarium USACH Edition), Sundeck, Mutek Santiago, and the World Music Festival, collaborating with artists from all continents. He also creates visuals annually for the Chilean opera at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago, corporate events, and theater productions, incorporating mixed media animations, including motion graphics, artificial intelligence, audio-reactive visuals, and live video feeds.
His musical project, Elektrompe, blends World Music rhythms and sounds with contemporary electronic music, designed for the dance floor.
Live, Elektrompe delivers a multi-instrumental audiovisual set, combining native flutes, charango, electric guitar, and synthesizers with ethnic and electronic rhythms from downtempo, deep house, minimal, and melodic techno. These live-created textures power an audio-reactive visual system, projecting immersive visuals to complete a captivating and cutting-edge performance.
As an entrepreneur, he founded Monster Moment, a multimedia studio actively engaged in the creative economy since 2011, providing services for private companies and government organizations in digital communication and corporate staging. Monster Moment brings together specialists in technology, new media, and communications to develop innovative solutions for a wide range of projects.
He is also the founder of Experiencia Andestral, a festival and electronic music event merging Latin American sounds with World Music and audio-reactive visuals, featuring leading Chilean and international artists.
In the academic field, Leo taught university-level creative technology courses for nearly 15 years, collaborating with institutions such as the University of Santiago, Arcos Institute of Art and Communication, the University of Chile, and Escuela Moderna de Música. Although he has stepped away from formal teaching to focus on personal projects, he remains connected to education through specialized lectures, including those for Biblioredes, the Museum Network, Cultura Digital (MINCAP), and the electronic music and digital art festival MUTEK Chile.
